Message from Roger and the leadership team
Sunday 29 March
Morning: This week we are intending to produce a recorded service, which will be similar to last week's format - this will be available on the front page of the website by 10.30am on Sunday. We won't be getting the band together this week, as that is no longer permitted, but we have some extra songs prepared that we recorded last week to keep us going and Roger is preparing a talk. We'll also provide some weblinks to the song lyrics so you can join in properly.
In future weeks, we hope to host a more interactive service on Zoom at an earlier time on Sunday mornings. This will then be recorded and put on the website for 10.30am for those who are unable to access Zoom (or want to listen again!)
Evening: Join us on Zoom for a virtual coffee bar and drop-in between 6pm and 8pm. Bring your own coffee and pop in for any length of time to chat with friends and encourage each other. See the email from Roger to church members for Zoom meeting details.
All Sunday services at the Mission, children's clubs, life groups, and other regular church activities are cancelled until further notice.
We had a successful online Partnering in Prayer meeting with the parish church on Wednesday, using Zoom, with around 20 households 'attending'. We're looking into using Zoom for other activities such as life groups and prayer meetings. To use Zoom, you just need a smartphone, tablet or computer with internet access.
Keeping in touch with one another
We ask to you keep in contact with other church members as much as possible - pick up the phone, send a message of encouragement, or ask if people would like prayer or any practical help (if you are able to provide the latter). We need to be physically distant but we don't have to be socially distant!
If you have a pastoral need or prayer request, please get in touch with Roger directly (church members), leave a message on the church answerphone (0116 275 3866; checked but not daily), or in an emergency contact Roger on 07471 664472.
If you need assistance from our foodbank, please email email@example.com
If you would welcome a regular chat over the phone during this period of 'staying at home', do let Roger know and he will put you in touch with the team of people who are happy to give you a call.
Please keep an eye on this page and/or our Facebook page for regular updates.
Remember that past sermons are also available on our website here. This could be an opportunity to catch up with any talks that you may have missed.
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9.
May you know God's peace at this time,
Roger and the leadership team
